In which things are going well (really!)

We are on the path to discharge, if all goes to plan we could be home in 9 to 14 days. I really really hope things go to plan. There is still talk of popping in a super easy convenient g-tube (heavy on the sarcasm, here) which I remain dead set against, except as an absolute last resort. A reminds me that they can't put it in without my permission, so maybe I shouldn't get so worked up about it.

I've been spending all day and soon some nights at the hospital, breastfeeding a couple times a day and generally learning Benjy's patterns. Stressful sometimes, but mostly really nice.

Right now I'm trying very hard not to hover as A holds the baby. How do you all refrain from yelling things like, He likes the blue one!!, or, Support the head! It's very difficult.

  1. He likes the blue one!!

You're starting to worry about normal parent things instead of scary NICU things! Congratulations.
